About Identity Theft
Shield
Identity Theft
Shield was created because we felt that everyone in the United States should be
protected from identity thieves. Identity theft is the crime that the FBI
calls one of the
fastest growing crimes in the United States. Some victims
spend months, sometimes
years trying to fix their credit and restore their
identity.
We also felt that nobody should have to pay for identity theft
protection, especially when
you can protect yourself for free. Although the
Fair Credit Reporting Act allowed individuals
to place fraud alerts with the
credit bureaus to protect themselves, the initial process and
the follow-up
is not easy. For starters, you have to remember to re-activate your fraud alert
with the credit bureaus every 90 days in order to stay protected. Forget
this important step
every 90 days
and your identity and your
good credit is vulnerable.
That is why we created Identity Theft Shield.
AHF members receive a quick link making it
easy for them to activate their
initial fraud alert. Identity Theft Shield members also receive this
quick
link every 90 days as a reminder that its time to re-activate their fraud alert.
The
Identity Theft Shield website also lets you view the latest identity
theft news keeping you up to date
on the latest schemes. Don't pay someone
to protect your identity. Protect it for free and
let us help you along the
way at no charge.
